 Background
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
is a proficiency test used primarily by American
and Canadian colleges and universities, as well
as embassies, to determine a student's ability
to study full-time in English at post secondary
level. The TOEFL test in Nepal is administered
by the Fulbright Commission in Gyaneshwor. It
is an internet-based testing (iBT), and rigorously
assesses an individual's listening, reading, speaking
and grammatical skills; as well as analyzing written
ability in the form of a compulsory essay.
